Orders to addresses in the US can now be placed in our Etsy store.
Unfortunately Etsy is an extremely basic platform in terms of functionality for sellers. They’re more into fancy bells and whistles than providing a functional shopping platform. So unsurprisingly, like in so many other areas, Etsy lacks the functionality for non-US shops to charge tariffs on purchases to US addresses.
To get around this we have devised a way to reopen shipping to the US and collect the tariffs owed.
1: Place your order as normal.
2: Within 24 hours you will receive a message from us containing a link to a private listing we have created for you on Etsy. This comprises the tariff on your order (10%) + a £1 (approx $1.40) handling fee. Half of the handling fee will go to Royal Mail who will collect the tariff from us when we purchase your shipping label, and the other half to Etsy to cover the listing, transaction and processing fees of your tariff listing.
3: Within 48 hours of receiving this message from us you must pay the tariff and handling fee in your private listing. Failure to do so will mean your order will be cancelled. You can of course place another order if you wish, for example if you forgot to pay the tariff + handling fee within the 48 hours.
We realise this is a cumbersome way to do it, but many US buyers like to use Etsy and after several days of racking our brains trying to find a solution around Etsy’s lack of functionality in this matter, it is the only feasible solution we can offer which allows us to reinstate shipping to the US on Etsy.
Alternatively, you can just place your order here on BaldyBeardy.com, where tariffs and handling fees are already included for orders to US addresses and displayed to you at checkout.
Please note: Tariffs are based on shipping address (not billing address) so if you’re ordering from outside the US to a delivery address in the US you’ll need to pay the tariff.
