As of Friday 29th August 2025, due to the abolishment of the de minimis exemption in the US, ALL orders will be subject to tariffs.
As you will probably know, tariffs are a tax on imports, paid by the importer and usually passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. When you order from us for delivery to the US you are both the importer and final consumer, so you will have to pay the tariff to receive your order.
As we are based in Northern Ireland, we are part of both the UK and EU single markets, and as of now, have no idea what the tariffs on our goods would even be. There are no mechanisms in place for the tariffs to be collected and we predict massive delays in deliveries as millions of packages get backlogged, as every single one has to be assessed for tariffs.
Due to the amount of uncertainty and confusion created by the current US administration, and the high probability of chaos in the US postal service as it struggles to deal with these issues, we have taken the decision to suspend shipping to the US as of end of day Friday 22nd August 2025. Orders placed for delivery to the US on or before this date will arrive in and clear customs before the exemption ends on Friday 29th August 2025 and so won’t be subject to tariffs.
There are no winners when it comes to tariffs, especially when no thought has gone into their imposition. The ultimate loser, however, is the US consumer.
