Reinstatement of shipping to the US in our Etsy store

Tariffs on orders from the UK to the US via Etsy

Orders to addresses in the US can now once again be placed in our Etsy store.

All items in our Etsy store will now show the product’s price with the 10% tariff included + a small collection fee of approximately 70c. These US specific prices will only show if you have the US chosen as your delivery address. Otherwise the normal non-US prices for the rest of the world will show (i.e. without tariffs).

Alternatively, you can just place your order here on BaldyBeardy.com, where tariff is simply added on at checkout along with a collection fee of approximately 70c.

Please note: Tariffs are based on shipping address (not billing address) so if you’re ordering from outside the US to a delivery address in the US you’ll need to pay the tariff + collection fee.

Reinstatement of shipping to the US

We have now reinstated shipping to the US. 👍 All orders to the US will have a 10% tariff added + a 50p/70c collection fee charged by Royal Mail (who collect your tariff from us and remit it to the US government on your behalf), and displayed to you in the total price at checkout.

Here is how it will look at checkout:

Tariffs on orders to US addresses

The total price shows the price inclusive of the tariff (10%). The amount of the tariff + Royal Mail’s collection fee of 50p/70c are displayed in brackets next to the total price. Prices for US buyers are automatically displayed on our website in US$.

Tariffs are based on shipping address (not billing address) so if you’re ordering from outside the US to a delivery address in the US you’ll need to pay the tariff.

This change only affects orders with a delivery address in the US. No other countries are affected.

Update on tariffs and shipping to the USA

As of today, 29th August 2025, ALL orders to the USA are subject to tariffs.

Tariffs (or duties) are a tax charged on imports and usually passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. So these tariffs are an extra tax on US consumers.

The tariff for importing goods (such as our products) from the UK to the US is 10%. This will be added to the cost of all orders being shipped from the UK to the US. Royal Mail will be collecting the tariff on our behalf and remitting it to the US government. Royal Mail will also be charging a handling fee of 50p (around 70c) per order. This will be added on to the total tariff and displayed to you at checkout. You’ll know the total tariff charged + handling fee before paying at checkout.

Using this system, there will be no further charges to pay once the item is delivered.

Just to make it clear, we will not be making anything out of this. We will not use it as an opportunity to profiteer. The 10% tariff you pay at checkout will go via Royal Mail to the US government when we purchase your shipping label, and Royal Mail will keep the 50p handling fee.

We will figure out how all this is to be done in early September and hope to be able to reinstate shipping to the US by mid-September. This is all very short notice due to the executive order bringing forward the end of the de minimis exemption from 2027 to 2025. So there has been next to no time to prepare for this.

We will post another update once the US tariffs are incorporated into our website and provide more information then.

Suspension of shipping to the USA

As of Friday 29th August 2025, due to the abolishment of the de minimis exemption in the US, ALL orders will be subject to tariffs.

As you will probably know, tariffs are a tax on imports, paid by the importer and usually passed on to the consumer in the form of higher prices. When you order from us for delivery to the US you are both the importer and final consumer, so you will have to pay the tariff to receive your order.

As we are based in Northern Ireland, we are part of both the UK and EU single markets, and as of now, have no idea what the tariffs on our goods would even be. There are no mechanisms in place for the tariffs to be collected and we predict massive delays in deliveries as millions of packages get backlogged, as every single one has to be assessed for tariffs.

Due to the amount of uncertainty and confusion created by the current US administration, and the high probability of chaos in the US postal service as it struggles to deal with these issues, we have taken the decision to suspend shipping to the US as of end of day Friday 22nd August 2025. Orders placed for delivery to the US on or before this date will arrive in and clear customs before the exemption ends on Friday 29th August 2025 and so won’t be subject to tariffs.

There are no winners when it comes to tariffs, especially when no thought has gone into their imposition. The ultimate loser, however, is the US consumer.
